09.27.2014 Coaticook, Quebec

How can you say no to a cute cabin like this?

I hustled my friends to come with me to Coaticook to check out Moment Factory's Foresta Lumina at Parc de la Gorge for a weekend. I managed to miscalculate (and convince everyone) the length of the drive by 4 hours, but didn't realise this until 5 hours later when we made it to Ottawa. Nonetheless, we re-energized with some old friends and midnight pho in Ottawa, and carried onwards, arriving at our cabin in the middle of the darkness night.

03.22.2014 Monkey's Paw Bookstore

There's a bookstore in Toronto with the most peculiar machine tucked in the back behind a red velvet curtain. This store sells old, rare, unique, and first editions of books, which are usually gorgeous, hard to find, or just plain intriguing. Like seriously, all the books in there were interesting.

09.15.2013 You're rarer than a can of dandelion and burdock...Arctic Monkeys

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so excited for this. The concert was great fun and Alex Turner totally makes me swoon, but I think I watched one too many clips of Alex Turner on KEXP and AM at Glastonbury a week before going to this so I had really ridiculous expectations and I killed the setlist surprise.. Nonetheless they were actually meters away from me! So, it's still good!!

07.18-20.2013 Paris

Weren't you wondering why I was travelling in Europe again? We've returned to Paris now, but it's business time. We're all here for the YAD executive conference..the same reason I was in Australia a few years back, and Japan, before then. Anyway, during the conference they scheduled a city tour where they took us to highlights like Champs-Élysées, La Tour Eiffel, the Luxor Obelisk and a boat cruise on the seine. And then after all that? That'll be it! Back to Toronto I go..

07.15.2013 Rijksmuseum

Andy Warhol,  Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands, 1985
Today's most exciting event was the Rijksmueum. We had only 2.5 hours and I wanted to see everything, so I was practically running through the hallways.

Oh, actually we also went to the Anne Frank House but no photos allowed, so I didn't take any. There was a lineup that started at 8am, but it was worth it. Especially if you read the books and know the story. And! we went for a boat cruise, in which everyone fell asleep!

07.14.2013 Amsterdam

yaaaaaayyy!*
I barely took any photos today. Although I've been to Amsterdam "often" I still can't get from place to place. At least, however, Amsterdam is smaller than Paris, and I have a general idea of the big landmarks. But today I got to venture out on my own and it's not so bad. I also had a bit of an "I'm free!" feeling when I stepped out of the house with the keys in my hand. Now, officially, I can say I know how to get around, at least from Centraal (and all the tram stops on the way) to Museumplein.

Best thing today was getting groceries in the morning, and meeting my friend at night. Ohhh how I've missed her face! The other girls went out too and I tried really hard to merge both parties into one, but it was a cat and mouse chase all night long of missed connections.
