Ever since moving to Minnesota, seeing Paul Bunyan was at the top of my list. Even as I asked the locals about where to find him, nobody seemed to hold the same fascination. Turns out he lives far from the city. This really all began as I watched the movie 'Fargo' as my "get to know Minnesota" film before moving here. As well, to me, he was the iconic Minnesota thing to see. There's also his buddy the blue ox, but he's just the sidekick.

04.18.2015 Mall of America Mirror Maze
I found a group-on for a mirror maze! Tickets were purchased, and co-workers were recruited.
We were given plastic gloves so as to not dirty and smudge the mirrors and entered though a thick black curtain. The place is dark, and looks as though there are an infinite number of pathways, but it was more like an infinite number of tricks.
This was surprisingly difficult to get through! Everyone went in thinking, "This is for kids, it's going to be like a cheap funhouse" (Actually, I went in thinking, "Yaay!") All the mirrors were angled so you couldn't tell if your friend in front of you, around the corner, behind you, or just in the mirror, so we really did walk in circles for a while...I was leading the group, so that did not help either but luckily (or unluckily?) we stuck together. Shamefully, even the kids that were in the mirror maze figured it out and got out before we did.
Obviously we eventually made it out, I stopped looking for directions and we soon found a new pathway to the exit. But for the record, if you put me back in the maze again, I still wouldn't know how to get out.
Also! This place would make for a very dangerous (and exciting) game of tag..!

01.08.2015 Moved to Minneapolis!
An official job offer was handed to me and I accepted. Therefore I've moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota! In true I'm-leaving-the-country fashion, I was swamped, stressed and booked for lunch and dinner every day before leaving and did not pack until practically the last day. So this really is another new adventure!
I didn't take many photos this time, sorry. I'm still trying to figure out this phone vs camera thing. Minnesota is cold, it is winter now and my arrival was smooth. The most impressive thing was that I did not get lost in the airport at all. Every time I felt that I could almost be lost, I looked up and there was a sign.
My cab driver was overpriced and unreliable though. He did not know where the house was even though I gave him an address, and then he did not trust his GPS after he put it into his machine. It was frustrating because I didn't know how to get there and apparently neither did my cab driver.
The place I live in is simple, and a little suburb-y. I have a roommate, but she isn't here yet because she's on vacation in Thailand. But! I think I like her already, she got me a book, "How to Talk Minnesotan" as a welcome present, and left me some wine.
So! This is it! I'm in a state of a sort of new everything! Work starts Monday and I need to fill my fridge..and get some covers for the bed.

04.24.2013 Seattle day 2
view from our window
We're here! We made a humble list and mapped it out in the morning opting to walk rather than use the bus or skytrain. Out of the 14 things to see, we made 8.5. That's not so bad!Tuesday, April 23, 2013
04.23.2013 Driving to Seattle!
Now that we're all here, lets go!
Today we are driving to Seattle! We're only going for two days and then returning to Vancouver. We're also making a stop at the Tulip festival in Skagit Valley. I made a list of things to see along the way, and we surprisingly were able to cross out most of it especially since shopping took us longer than we thought haha.
