08.03.2009 Shinsaibashi, end of tour

For the end of Taiwan's post conference tour, we went to do some shopping at Shinsaibashi. Shinsaibashi is basically a very long street selling all sorts of things, and it is recognized by the giant crab and Glico man there. Only one street over is Namba walk which is like high end apartments and shopping, and on another street nearby is the Ginza equivalent. All of which I discovered a few days after I went to Shinsaibashi.

universal studios JR train!

Me trying to grab as many stuffed toys as I can at the Disney Store.

After we sent the Taiwan youth off, we went back to Shinsaibashi ourselves to see it at night. We took a different route and found a giant pachinko/slot machine store, and an underground Chicago Art Gallery. It's just a single hallway lined with paintings from the Art Institute in Chicago, but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

We get around with an ICOCA which is the Suica equivalent. And this is why I need a new watch (perhaps not exactly a 9875 or 23000Yen one..)
