I was really excited about Pictoplasma when it came up on my 'things to do in Berlin' radar. It's a festival about contemporary character design and art/illustration/graphic design, toys and animation. (think FriendsWithYou, or Gary Taxali) But I was so swamped with work that I totally forgot it was happening until it was almost too late. Thank goodness I snuck in a slice of Saturday to check out all the exhibitions. Yes, all, and it was surprisingly achievable. (okay, I might have missed one or two)
There was a heap of 20 odd public exhibitions and installations for Pictoplasma lined up in a sort of "character walk". This was nice because you could make your way to all the galleries in an orderly manner without having to figure out the best route yourself. Otherwise, there's not much to say about the festival, so this post will be mostly visual for you as it was for me. Enjoy!
