07.22.2012 Prague

Metronome, built over leftover Stalin stuff
We had a plan for today, but we really only stuck to it when we needed to eat.

We started our day off at a the fancy art nouveau (Jugendstil) Grand Hotel Europa. This place is actually over 100 years old, and they apparently have a restaurant which was the set for the dining room in Titanic! Anyway, we figured we could treat ourselves to breakfast and coffee in the cafe while gawking at every corner. I can't think of a better way to start a day.

Grand Hotel Europa,                                                           The Melantrich Building and its infamous balcony (velvet revolution)

CUBIST LAMPOST. the one and only in the world.

Staedtler?

being left behind.

Television tower with climbing babies. Tower, Václav Aulický, Jiří Kozák, babies, David Černý...and a luxury one room hotel in one of those pods, it also comes with a limousine and driver.

This is the hostel we stayed at. It was dirrrrty. I literally had to sneak up to sixth floor to use the suite room bathrooms.
