08.21.2012 Sevilla tour

This is my second last day in Sevilla and I still haven't crossed the river. Actually I never thought about what was on the other side, but it could be worth wandering into. I had breakfast with that stranger I met the first night I arrived. He told me to check out the archives, and so I did and he accompanied me. I also got him to show me the aquaduct ruins in the middle of a street, which he insisted did not exist (but the internet said it did), and thankfully it did, because the sun was getting pretty hot. It's too bad he didn't suggest the museum of fine arts or the archaeological museum. (In which, I only find out about these places in hindsight, many miles away from Sevilla) And so, the rest of the day I took to my own, mostly shopping and writing postcards.

08.20.2012 Sevilla day 2

Today I went to Alcázar, the great, the breautiful, the grand. And the Plaza de España during siesta. I was supposed to go there in the morning where it would be less touristy and not as hot, but I slept in. If I wasn't dying from the heat, I think I would venture further and see the other buildings, but it really was too hot. There were no trees and it was like being in an oven. The instant I got there I darted under the shade of the building.

08.19.2012 Sevilla

Welcome to Sevilla! I got as far as the neighbourhood of my hostel until I got lost. And boy is it hot outside. I walked in and out of the streets of shops, all of them intertwining and looking alike, but not quite. I tried to make markers, but I was tired, and my bag was getting heavy and I was cursing at my instructions. I had looked up the directions, but they were pretty useless after instruction number one: "Once off the bus, cross street and turn on street after the cafe, and go straight" I got off the bus, check. I crossed the street, check. I saw the cafe...but was I supposed to turn on the small street or the big street? And for the record, neither streets went straight! (I tried both)
