There's a bookstore in Toronto with the most peculiar machine tucked in the back behind a red velvet curtain. This store sells old, rare, unique, and first editions of books, which are usually gorgeous, hard to find, or just plain intriguing. Like seriously, all the books in there were interesting.

04.22.2013 Calgary > Vancouver

Currently in Calgary...

I'm actually just in transit to Vancouver. This is my first time on the West coast of Canada! There's one week until my rent is up in Ottawa and nobody is doing anything anyway. I hummed and hawed over whether to take this trip or not since my friend was going to Vancouver and I was casually saying hey, I want to come too.. but then proceeded to actually think about it. The next thing you know I'm actually going there..Well, why not! 

05.06.2012 Sneaker Swap

Today I went to a sneaker-swap market bonanza by solemart. The idea was that you bring your best sneakers, vintage, limited edition, what have you, and swap with other sneaker-geeks and their collector goods or with retailers (like Nike, adidas, etc) if you see a shoe that they have that you like, you can trade yours in. I'm not a sneaker-geek, nor do I have a good pair of sneakers on hand, but I was just curious to see how things were going to go down.

Sentry robot!

We had so much time, and now the holiday is more than half done. There was a plan, but we hardly stuck to it. Today we did more living-in-the-city things and less touristy things. Although, a nice thing happened today! Many years ago we came across this product that I thought was really adorable, and today, we found the studio and met the designer! To make the world even smaller, he also knows my coworker. Neat-o right? It's a two person design company, and one partner lives and works in Berlin while the other lives and works in Munich. I asked them how they do a long distance relationship like that, and he just shrugs and says, "We Skype." and left it at that.

Sorry, I worked the colour on this a bit too much. Those lamps are killing me. Will change it .. maybe eventually..

Today has been windy and rainy all day. I must have spoke too soon about the marvellous weather and jinxed it. Anyway, I stayed up until Canadian bedtime last night chatting with family and friends, and as a result, I have no motivation to do anything today.

Off to another temporary stay!

My hostel days are up so I moved to stay at the temple. Last night I actually ended up with the entire hostel room to myself, and I guess in the middle of  the night someone moved in. When I got up in the morning, he was there sleeping with his toes sticking out from under the covers. I made a ruckus leaving and he didn`t even budge.
